Having helped the authorities catch the murderer Injun Joe in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn may be a hero for everyone but he is nobody to his cruel father who has suddenly reappeared in his life to usurp his prize money. Huck fakes his own murder to break free from him and flees on a canoe down the Mississippi River. Presently, he comes across Jim, a black runaway slave, who is in search of his own freedom. They travel a long distance down the river, landing here and there in unforgettable hair-raising adventures.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is viewed as the first Great American Novel. It is a rare classic which has been venerated by both adults and children down the generations.

Mark Twain (originally Samuel Langhorne Clemens) was born on 30 November 1835. Mark Twain is the most famous of many pen names Clemens used in his literary career. One of the great American writers, Twain wrote prolifically. His writings include novels, short stories, travelogues, letters, journalistic papers etc. His novels The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn enjoy a special place in world literature. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is usually dubbed as the Great American Novel. Twain was also considered the greatest humorist of his time. He died on 21 April 1910.
