This book is representative definitive selection of Masood Ashar’s writings. Two of Ashar’s collections are out of print and are difficult to obtain. This selection draws upon his stories representing various aspects of his work and makes these available in a more accessible form for the larger reading public they deserve.

Dr Asif Farrukhi is a professor, short story-writer and critic. He has compiled many anthologies of Pakistani writers He regularly contributes to a leading daily, Dawn Karachi and different literary periodicals. He is currently editing and publishing a literary miscellany in Urdu Duniyazaad. He received the Prime Minister’s Award for
Literature in 1995 and the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in 2005.
